Things That Make You Go...

...Hmmmmm. I expect that I'll be doing double-takes pretty regularly as I drive across the U.S., but on the first full day of the XXX-Country Tour on Tuesday (spent in southern Virginia), it seemed the hits just kept on coming. Without further ado...


Shrine?? Ryan and I immediately put the GPS -- dubbed Lady Garmin/GarGar -- on hold and took a detour.


Don't be deceived -- Stonewall Jackson isn't BURIED here, just died. Behind this is the house where Jackson was treated unsuccessfully from war wounds. What killed him? A glorious march nawth? A horrible disease? Nope -- friendly fire.

And talk about getting a bit too friendly...


We discovered this Katy Perry decor in the Strawberry Inn Cafe in Richmond. Great, local restaurant.

Continuing our game of Which of These Things Is Not Like the Other?, we came upon this roof marking in the quaint Fan District. Needless to say, it was the only one on the block.



Likewise, we stopped by the beautiful, wooded campus of University of Richmond...


... only to uncover this record scratch.

After a full day in Richmond, we trucked on over to Roanoke to crash for the night. We slept well knowing that in the morning, we'd be greeted by a wonderful breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, and ...

    Saw the picture of the odometer taken while driving. You promised you would not text while driving--did I forget to mention photography at speeds >2 mph?
