That's Tom in his one-man shop in West Chester. I found Tom through the CarTalk website just a few days ago, and he did great work on my car. Funny enough: there don't seem to be any other mechanics working at his shop, he always seems to be in his office -- picks up the phone on the first ring every time -- and yet my car got fixed and inspected in about 36 hours. Awesome. The hand-drawn Ren and Stimpy character hanging on his office wall (not shown) is equally fascinating.
Outside Tom's office is a small parking lot full of VWs from every generation. I asked Tom how business is going, and he reported that things have really picked up in the last couple of weeks. A month ago his lot was empty, he said, but now he can barely keep up with the work. Glad to hear it.
